Can you enlarge my photograph?

I absolutely can! I have taken small, 2” photographs and reproduced them successfully as 16x20” prints. Enlargement limitations do somewhat depend on the sharpness of your original photograph. If your original is blurry to begin with, it is not recommended that it be enlarged greatly.

What kinds of pictures can you restore?

Any and all of them! I have restored photographs as old as daguerreotypes and as new as color copies made this year. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to know where your original photographs are. No matter the damage, original photographs are infinite times better to work with for restoration purposes than copies of originals. Check out my blog post explaining this!

How long does it take?

Turnaround time is generally 2-3 weeks for a project with basic to medium restoration. Large projects and heavily damaged items may have a longer estimate of time to be restored.

What will it look like?

I always aim to restore a photograph to what it would have looked like when it was first made, if not better. I aim to preserve historic qualities while repairing damage and fading. I want your photographs to be restored and to look pristine! I will not allow work to appear overly photoshopped or fake.

Do you make different types of prints?

I make one type of print at my studio, and that is a giclée print. The giclée prints that I make are proven and guaranteed against fading and mild water exposure. That being said, it is an heirloom that is made to last for generations to come, unlike most modern photographic prints made today. It is the only type of print that I make because it is the only thing I genuinely trust to last my customers their lifetimes and beyond.

Can you add or remove people from a photograph?

Yes! I routinely do so for restoration customers as well as other photographers!

Can you colorize black and white photos?

I absolutely love to colorize photographs. I work very closely with my customers to ensure that skin tones, eye colors, and hair colors are spot on as well as making decisions on what colors clothing, accessories, etc should be in every photograph. I spend a great amount of time colorizing photographs and shading them almost like a painting. There is no magic “color fill” button without it looking fake.
